Level Two Intermediate Certification

Parts I and II

Offered in Week One & Week Two

WEEK ONE: Part I

Prerequisite: Completion of Level I Certification

Students refine skills in all areas. Solfège and Improvisation materials are more advanced, and greater skill is developed in Eurhythmics. Students pursuing the Level II Jaques-Dalcroze Intermediate Certification are expected to pass student teaching requirements, as well as qualifying examinations in Eurhythmics, Plastique, Solfège and Piano Improvisation. Daily assignments are given in all branches, and supervised practice is provided.

 

Level II, Week I candidates are given the opportunity to teach three twenty-minute periods of which two of the lessons must receive a pass. Detailed preparation precedes, and constructive critical analysis follows, each lesson. Each lesson provides an opportunity for on-the-spot feedback and direction.

WEEK TWO: Part II

Prerequisite: Completion of Level II Part I Intermediate Certification

Part II continues to develop the advanced skills in Eurhythmics, Solfège, Piano Improvisation, and Plastique, but is primarily designed to prepare the student to qualify for the Level II Jaques-Dalcroze Certificate examinations.

 

The qualifying examinations include Pedagogy, Solfège, Piano Improvisation, Eurhythmics, and Plastique.  In Level II, Part II, candidates are given the opportunity to teach three thirty-minute periods of which two of the lessons must receive a pass. Detailed preparation precedes, and constructive critical analysis follows, each lesson. Each lesson provides an opportunity for on-the-spot feedback and direction.
