WEEK ONE: Part I Learn basic skills in Eurhythmics, Solfège, Improvisation, and Plastique Animée, and observe the student teaching Level II candidates. Previous teaching experience is recommended. Assignments in all branches of study (including Eurhythmics) are given daily, and supervised practice is provided. Personal examinations in Eurhythmics, Solfège, Plastique and Piano Improvisation are required. WEEK TWO: Part II Prerequisite: Successful Completion of Part I Students develop further skills in the core branches, and learn to apply the principles of Jaques-Dalcroze education in their own teaching. Candidates participate in practice teaching and take exams in Eurhythmics, Solfège, Plastique, Pedagogy, and Piano Improvisation. Assignments in all branches of study (including Eurhythmics) are given daily, and supervised practice is provided. Part II of Level I training stipulates that candidates are to teach three fifteen-minute periods of which two of the lessons must receive a pass. Detailed preparation precedes, and constructive critical analysis follows, each lesson. Each lesson provides an opportunity for on-the-spot feedback and direction.
